As the end of the year approaches, mixed emotions tend to emerge. Some are overwhelmed by the end of such an amazing time and others can’t wait for it to be over. Regardless, we tend to get a strange feeling when things come to an end or when we’re about to leave a place to start another adventure. The unknown can be terrifying and those fears that we push away throughout the year have a way of creeping up on us as the year approaches an end and another is set to begin. We over think and analyze or sometimes run wholeheartedly into tomorrow not realizing that today isn’t over yet. Time might be our keeper but that doesn’t mean it’s structured. We have the ability to spend it as we choose, it’s not infinite but it can feel like it. See the thing is, we all get a little nervous when things are about to change. When one day fades into another and we’re unsure of where exactly we’re headed in this world. Change is definite. Whether we embrace or reject it, it will always happen and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It doesn’t always feel amazing and sometimes we question why it happens in the first place but in time it makes sense. It might take more then a day or week or year, but the pieces no matter how slowly they come together, eventually do come together. We get a strange feeling when we’re about to leave a place or times are about to change, like we’ll not only miss those we love but we’ll also miss who we are in this very moment because we know we’ll never be this way again. We’ll grow and change and be different but if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that this life is like a cube of sugar– It crumbles so easily, but we should never fear tasting it.
So as this year comes to an end, I hope you all find peace. That you come to terms with what is and have faith in what will be. The new year can be terrifying, overwhelming, and daunting but it can also be fascinating, enchanting, and most of all that chance to start over. For no matter how much time we spend, it’s never to late to begin a new beginning.
Be Bold, Be Brave, Be-YOU-tiful
