In life, success isn’t always what we see. In fact, it’s easy to imagine that everyone else is doing far better then us and they’re exactly where they want to be in their careers, love lives, and lives in general in comparison to us. Yet, most of the time, this isn’t true. We have this tendency to compare our behind the scene moments that only we are privy to, to everyone else’s highlight reel. We forget that we only see what they want us to see and they edit out all the other moments that they don’t wish for the world to know. We are all complicated puzzle pieces trying to interconnect and complete our picture. The difference is we know every detail of our own story, the failures and the successes that sometimes can be overwhelming. It can be down right terrifying to think that we aren’t going to accomplish what we hoped and aren’t going to go where we planned in life. We overlook the major successes we’ve accomplished and instead focus on that one negative comment that changed our day or the one bad grade that burst our bubble. Nothing is ever going to go exactly the way we planned and that’s okay. We can’t allow the pressures of succeeding to stop us from realizing the mini successes we experience everyday. When we start to look for the wonders we are gifted with, we begin to realize we have accomplished a lot more then we thought. Success isn’t always what we see, sometimes it runs much deeper than that.
