No-thingness

I had a professor that told me we don’t live in a world of nothingness but rather one of no-thingness. He explained that everything around us, including ourselves, has an expiration date. At some point, whatever it may be. it will cease to exist. Those words have stuck with me for there’s a brutal truth inside them. Our lives run off granted time no matter how much we wish they didn’t. We’re given a chance every day to live the lives we dreamed about but most of the time we make excuses as to why we can’t. We’re too busy, everything’s too complicated, too expensive and the list goes on. These lines tumble out of our mouths and we content ourselves with only wishing. Yet, dreams don’t come to those who only wait. They happen when you’re working hard and realize how incredible your life is in that moment. They happen when you let go of all these preconceived notions on why you can’t and believe the ones that say you can. Everything is lost at some point, everything changes, and everything disappears but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be amazing while it’s here. We live off borrowed time, make it worth it.
