Our lives aren’t solely made of the bumps that threw us for a loop and left us falling. Our struggles become a part of us but they shouldn’t define us. Yet, no matter how small or large they are, we always remember them. The wave of pain, the anxiety, the confusion. It’s a lot harder to remember the sweetness of the sun in the summer when we’re buried in three inches of snow. Or the way it’s almost impossible to remember the applause from a while ago when we’re terrified our new ideas won’t meet the expectations. They all fade into the back drop of our memories, our fears, doubts, and insecurities taking center stage, guiding us through what we do and what we wish we did. Don’t let them. Happiness might not leave a scar, but if you let it, it will stitch together your soul. We’re all a little bruised and broken but that doesn’t mean we aren’t meant for greatness. We all have different stories to tell and adventures to undergo, remember your not only the scars, you’re also the smiles you shared with strangers and good deeds you’ve seen. You are a lot more then what you believe. So breathe and just for a moment, allow yourself to be.
