So today I’m sharing a post that is a bit different from my norm. Recently, I’ve stumbled upon this amazing opportunity and I wanted to share it with all of you. Good Deeds Day is an international, annual celebration that takes place on a Sunday in March. It’s exactly what it sounds like, a celebration of Good Deeds around the world. Hundreds of thousands choose to volunteer and help others, highlighting the simple idea that every single person can do something good, be it BIG or tiny, to change the lives of others and positively impact the world.
This year, Good Deeds Day falls this Sunday, March 9th and personally I can’t wait. There are tons of different ways we can participate, be it taking the pledge or actively volunteering and registering a group. The Good Deeds Day website itself is full of inspiring ideas from do-good organizations and individuals worldwide. I know I’ve definitely been inspired and will be participating this Sunday. The world is ours and we should treat it and the people in it the way we would treat our beloved iPhones and computers. We put so much value on material things; we forget that it was people elsewhere that actually made them.
So celebrate, the people you’ve met and those you’ve yet to cross paths with. Our lives are shaped by these interactions and these little moments so live them and fully embrace it. Remember it doesn’t have to be a grand gesture even something small holds the potential of changing someone forever.
